Testimonials for Connecticut Basement Systems

On February 19th Chris, George, and Ascention installed a sump pump in the crawl space at my home. Later they dug a trench to pipe out the water to the front of the property. They also installed a plastic mat in another crawl to stop damplness from coming up into the house.  I am writing you now to tell you what an excellent job they did. This was a very difficult task given that the crawls were low and difficult to access. They worked very hard, were patient and good humored throughout it all. In digging the trench, they had to move rocks, cut through tree roots and managed to do it all in a cheerful professional manner.  I thought I was never going to find a solution to the water that used to run like a river through my crawl space. It now seems to have been all taken care of. My compliments and thanks to Basement Systems and to you all. 

We had a little bit of moisture in our basement which made it always a little moldy-ish and smelled musty. We didn’t have any water there but the basement is always moist because of the high humidity in our area and the basements are always colder. Basement Systems had a very nice and really good dehumidifier which we purchased and it has worked beautifully. Their salesperson wasn’t so much a salesperson as trying to see what we needed. He really was trying to help us. Their installation people were absolutely beautiful. Our basement is definitely drier and without that musty smell after having the dehumidifier installed. It was a very good experience, easy and painless.

I purchased a new home about a year ago, and there was a water issue in the basement which the previous homeowners neglected. They had do-it-yourself remedies done to try and solve it, but I was looking for a more permanent and decisive solution to the problem. I did some talking around, reached out to a couple of other companies, but they either didn't get back to me or they just wanted to try and do a survey over the phone without coming out to look at what was going on. On the other hand, Basement Systems seemed knowledgeable. They had a lot of good reviews, so I went online and gave them a call. They came out and did a survey, and were there within days to do the work. The team was great. It was a messy job putting in the sump pump, with the mud, rocks, and everything else, but they cleaned everything up. They took a lot of precautions from the beginning, like putting blankets down all the way from the door to where they were working. It was very clean, and I was very impressed. They did a fantastic job, and for the size of the problem that we had and how fast, clean, and thorough their work was, I felt that we got a good deal on it. The problem has been remedied, and I've recommended them to all the people who I know have similar problems in the area where I live.

Our basement workers were also a Win Win and the job couldn’t have been done any more professionally than it was. Sid the foreman and his two assistants were with out a doubt, the most hardest working team I’ve ever met.  No smoke breaks, no talking on any cell phone at all, like most guys, no fighting, no deer in the headlights look when I asked them questions.  I am tickled pink how it came out and am removing all my plastic wrap this morning and getting ready to wash the floors, even though they did a good job of sweeping up afterwards.   They started Tue morning and immediately got right into the job without a hitch. Then Wed morning your two electricians came and did the sump pump wiring which went perfectly and shortly after they left, Sid showed up again with the crew, finishing the whole job that afternoon.  So, as you can tell, I’m 100% pleased and have told neighbors and friends already about the work CT Basement does so it was a blessing to find you guys.   Please forward this over to Larry so he can see how happy I am to have used your services and my wife and I will be visiting your showroom when the weather get’s better for a tour. again, thank you.....Bob Chunyk, Somers CT.   A very happy customer.

Chuck Stofko and Bill Anderson came to our house at no charge and started analyzing our issue.  They even cut into some walls to identify the source of the odor. They quickly identified the problem was coming from the outside, which essentially took the work away from them.  They took the time to discuss our options and even followed up in that they were looking for local providers to help out. I sincerely appreciated the honesty and quick diagnosis. To Lawrence Janesky, I am writing this email to praise Basement Systems on two fronts. But first let me tell you our story. After living in our new house for the past 4.5 years with hardly a drop of water in our unfinished basement, we discovered water flooding in at a rate of 10 gallons an hour through every part of the basement perimeter. Naturally we were stressed and baffled and called everyone we could think of including plumbers, excavators, roofers, basement specialists etc. One of the many calls we made was to Basement Systems and it was three weeks for a first time estimate appointment. After applying 6 gallons of hydraulic cement we were able to reduce the flood to a few gallons an hour but we were still frantic to find a solution quickly. Due to the wait for an appointment we wrote off your company as one of the contenders for a solution. After having several basement waterproofing companies visit our home, and after giving a deposit to one of them, we read through the Dry Basement Science book you had sent us through the mail. This very well written and descriptive book put a lot of things in perspective for us and gave us a new light on some of the things the other basement companies had said in their presentations. One of the things I especially valued in your book were the concentration on the technology of your solution vs the other companies concentration on how often they were praised and by whom. It was really the receipt of the Dry Basement Science book alone that caused us to reevaluate your company as a contender. We purposely sought your company out at a booth at the Home Expo at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY last weekend to see what you had to say and whether you might be persuaded to come out earlier to visit our home.  At the Home Expo we had the pleasure to meet with Jeff Nelson who was very helpful in his description of your system and your company. Even better, was that Jeff agreed to make a personal visit to our house that same evening, a Sunday night, after the expo was over! This visit combined with Jeff's superb demeanor and knowledge convinced us to choose your company over the company we had already given a deposit to. In addition, we later learned that Jeff was able to give us a very early date to implement the proposed solution. In summary, I would like to praise you for the book you have written, for the willingness to send it through the mail before we had seen anyone from your company, and for retaining excellent staff such as Jeff Nelson.
