This Sleepy Hollow, NY home had cracking and bowing walls that was caused from soil expansion. The homeowner was very concerned for the safety of his home and wanted to take care of the problem immediately. After doing some research, he decided to set an appointment with Connecticut Basement Systems to help find him a solution. 

Glen Kerpchar was the Sales Representative who arrived at the home the day of the appointment. He concluded that in order to fix the bowing of the walls, Carbon Armor would need to be installed. To be stable, strong and level, the floor above a crawl space requires solid mid-span support that's usually provided by a post-and-beam assembly. But beams are often undersized, and many contractors use wooden posts that can rot, shift and settle. When this happens, floor joists sag and other structural problems occur. They had to install 74 feet of supplemental beam to properly install the SmartJacks. These SmartJacks get tightened to a certain pressure until they are stabilizing and supporting the floor joists above. Over time, our crew will come out and tighten them even more so that the floors will no longer sag. Once everything was installed, the homeowner instantly had peace of mind knowing their floors and home were stabilized permanently and was already visibly seeing results on the floor.
