CleanSpace in East Haven, CT
Challenge
This East Haven basement had a lot of cracks in its basement walls. This allowed for airflow and water seepage to flow through the basement. This left the basement cold, damp and very unappealing. These negative elements have a huge effect on how the rest of the home functions. Wanting a solution to keep their basement dry and visually appealing, they decided to give Connecticut Basement Systems a call!
Solution
The homeowners made an appointment for a System Design Specialist to give a free home evaluation estimate. Josh Kroop was the specialist to evaluate this East Haven, CT basement. He concluded that a CleanSpace System should be installed to solve all the homeowners’ concerns. This system includes a WaterGuard System, a TripleSafe Sump Pump, and CleanSpace. This will waterproof the basement while giving it a clean and fresh look, which is exactly what the homeowners wanted. With approval from the homeowner, Cisco and Josh, along with their production crew got to work installing all of the products.
First, after making sure that the basement was cleared and ready to be worked on, the perimeter of the walls were dug up in order to install the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is placed inside the ground and then is back filled with gravel. (The gravel is put so water is able to travel freely) Once the perimeter is filled, our production crew paves cement on top to seal it back up. The WaterGuard acts as a channel to make sure that the water that would have ended up inside your basement, is sent to the sump pump.
Next, the TripleSafe Sump Pump needs to be installed. The sump pump is responsible for pumping the water out of the basement through a discharge line. The water goes into the sump pump, which then is forced out through the discharge line and is filtered through the ice guard. (Ice guard helps prevent water from freezing in the winter) The discharge line is extended underground a few feet away from the house, where the water is finally released through a lawnscape.
Lastly, the CleanSpace is installed on the walls. A great benefit of this product is that it is quick to installed, attaching to the walls with plastic pegs. Sealing your basement with CleanSpace also includes these benefits…
- Controls mold and rot
- Keeps away pest and insects
- Seals away odors
- Keeps moisture and water seepage out
- Increased comfort – no drafty floors
- Increased home value
- Gives your basement a fresh, clean look!
The transformation is amazing and the homeowners are extremely pleased of their new basement!
