This Sandy Hook home had water seeping in through the cements walls underneath the insulation and made its way into the drywall damaging it. The homeowners called the experts at CT Basement Systems and Brad diagnosed the issue and fixed it. To guide the water out of the home we installed our WaterGuard below floor drain. The WaterGuard is installed in a bed of gravel on top of the foundation footing which keeps it out of the "mud zone". The water is then collected and pumped out of the home by our premier SuperSump which is capable of pumping 2,200 gallons of water per hour. Because the previous insulation was damaged we installed our ThermalDry Basement Radiant Wall Barrier. The ThermalDry® Wall system protects the finished basement from moisture and water that passes through concrete foundation walls. This product serves as both a vapor barrier and also as a way to redirect water leaking through the basement walls into the drainage system below.
This Fairfield, CT basement leaked all the time before we arrived, causing damage to the items in the basement. It was a humid space that was damaging the value of the home. With the installation of our TripleSafe sump pump system and SaniDry dehumidifier, we were able to create a dry basement environment that was a great asset to the home.
As you can see in the before photo, this Fairfield, CT basement was constantly filling with water, and was beginning to cause damage to the space's flooring and walls. These homeowners decided to give us a call at Connecticut Basement Systems to help fix the problem! In order to combat improper drainage, we went ahead and replaced the home's old sump pump with our own SuperPump. While their original pump lacked a lid, ours come with an airtight closure to keep out pests and debris. For proper drainage, we installed both our TrenchDrain and WaterGuard systems to ensure the space was permanently safe from any further water problems. Finally, to combat any unwanted moisture, and future mold problems, we installed our SaniDry Dehumidifier. This will create clean, dry air, and remove the risk of potential mold growth within the room. We left feeling confident in our work, and knowing this family would have a clean, safe space to use for years to come!
The basement in this Fairfield, CT was dirty, wet, and visually unappealing. This family needed a solution they knew would work, so they gave us a call at Connecticut Basement Systems. We were happy to come out and help them!
Our System Design Specialist, Vin Orsini, quickly came out to their home and evaluated what needed to be done to get their basement in tip-top shape. Our expert, Kryz Wilk, and his team came out quickly after to get the job started! The first they did was install a TrenchDrain at the base of the basement's stairs. This grated drainage pipe is installed at the entry way of the basement, and it resembles half of a basement drainage pipe, with a grated opening fitted snugly on top. The grate is flush or slightly below the floor, eliminating any tripping hazard. We also installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. This drainage system is nearly invisible, and unlike others, is installed in the interior of the basement and is designed to capture the water along the wall/floor junction. This all connects to the TripleSafe sump pump, a three pump system that pumps water out quickly and efficiently. It provides durability and reliability, and even in the most dangerous situations, there is a back up battery so you never have to worry about it overflowing.

This Fairfield basement had frequent water that was causing a nuisance for the homeowner. An insufficient sump pump seemed to be the cause of this water problem. An insufficient sump pump will prevent water exiting the basement properly. The homeowner decided to call Connecticut Basement Systems and set an appointment to help find him a solution.
The solution to this sump pump problem was to install a SuperSump pump. The SuperSump pump includes a Zoeller 1/3 horsepower cast-iron sump pump. This powerful pump is capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour! The water is collected from the WaterGuard system which was also installed and goes through the SuperSump pump and through the discharge line, away from the basement.
Now, this homeowner enjoys a dry, clean basement all year long!
