Cold Attic?

Foam spray being sprayed inside an attic.         Many homeowners don’t realize the amount of heat they are losing because of poor insulation or leaks in their attic. Tanner Janesky visited a home in Fairfield, CT that was experiencing several leaks in the attic ducts and insulation. To see exactly how bad the leaks were he compared the air temperature of the oil furnace to the temperature of the attic. The home had a target temperature of 71 degrees so Tanner came to the conclusion that the homeowners were losing more than half of their heat in distribution loses and that means lost money in heating costs! Homeowners that choose to have their attics insulated with either spray foam or SuperAttic will then notice that their attics are close to, if not the same temperature as their home. Once an airtight thermal cap is placed onto the house the heat becomes trapped in the attic – it’s basically free heat!
