This Greenwich, CT home was suffering from a multitude of problems, including a flooding problem in their basement that was beginning to create mold on the home's walls. They called our experts at Connecticut Basement Systems/Total Basement Finishing to take care of the problem! First, we cut and removed the bottom of the walls, to remove any damage that mold may have caused, before beginning our waterproofing process. In order to guide the water out of the home, we first installed our Trench Drain system, so it would be captured upon entrance. To keep the water from seeping through the walls, we made sure to install our WaterGuard drainage channel, and our TripleSafe Sump Pump to make sure that this basement was completely water free! Finally, once the space was completely mold proof, we went ahead and installed Everlast Wall Panels, made from inorganic materials which do not support mold growth. These homeowners can now enjoy their space for years to come!

Average sump pumps vs TripleSafe Sump Pump

A Bridgeport Home had a non working sump pump in a hole with a plastic hose to suck up water when rain came in. But it did not work very well and the basement would fill up with moisture and smell very bad. These happy customers contacted us here at CT Basement Systems and we had one of wonderful sales reps come out and fix the problem. In the place of the non working sump pump we put in our TripleSafe Sump Pump which has three levels of protection. Not only does it have 2 pumps to make sure your basement doesn't flood, but in the instance that the power goes out then the third pump backed up by battery takes over. We make sure that basements stay dry, and we will contact you when your yearly maintenance comes up.

Waterproofing in Middletown CT

A homeowner in Middletown owned his home for over 41 years and continued to have water problems just like all of his neighbors. His neighbors had contractors come in and "fix" the issue but they continued to have water issues. Once we came down and started working he was certain that he wouldn't have any problems. We installed our WaterGuard® System which our patented WaterGuard® System is the result of more than two decades of research and development by the world's largest network of waterproofers -- and is backed by a lifetime transferable written warranty! This system has been successfully used in hundreds of thousands of basements in more than three continents, and is a proven way to permanently dry your basement.

The water flowing through the WaterGuard® System stops in our TripleSafe™ Sump Pump. TripleSafe™ isn't just a sump pump. It's a sump pump system. TripleSafe™'s oversize plastic sump liner contains 3 sump pumps that can work together or separately depending on pumping demands. With the TripleSafe™ system, you don't have to worry about high pumping demands that can overwhelm or burn out single-pump systems. And if there's a power outage, your TripleSafe™ system will keep operating, thanks to a battery-powered backup pump.

Doesnt that sound like reliability?

Waterproofing in Bridgeport CT

The Smith family was having constantly occurring issues with water coming in and damaging their basement. The water was coming in where the wall and the ground come in and they could not figure out how to make the water stop coming in, so they contacted the experts at CT Basement Systems and Len Fletcher made all their worries go away. Len advised them our Drytrack Drainage system. The reason behind installing this instead of our french drain system is because every floor is different from the other and some are monolithic floors which means that the edges of these floors are extremely thick, and jackhammering them is a labor-intensive and creates a lot of dust.

Our System: Collects Water From Walls & Floor Joint, Above The Mud Zone To Prevent Clogging, Ideal For Monolithic Or Thick Floors, Includes A Written Lifetime Warranty

The L family had a continuing water problem in their basement. They contacted the experts here at Connecticut Basement Systems to get the problem resolved. We did just that when we showed up. To pump out all the water that was coming in we installed our TripleSafe sump pump which has a total of three pumps. The first pump turns on and is able to pump out 2,220 gallons of water and hour but if that is not enough the second pump turns on and is able to pump out an additional 3,900 gallons of water per hour. If the power were to go out there is a third pump which is backed up by a battery and is able to pump out 11,500 gallons of water.

We had to cover the ugly cement flooring that was already in place. We installed our ThermalDry flooring which is a 100% waterproof flooring. Unlike Tile and wood the flooring does not crack, chip, bow. The homeowners are now able to rest assured that their basement will remain dry.

Waterproofing Job in North Haven, CT

This North Haven house was experiencing excess water leakage into the basement coming from the stairs, and it was beginning to cause floor damage. The owner wanted a solution to this unwanted moisture, so he gave Connecticut Basement Systems a call!

One of our first solutions was to install a TrenchDrain at the end of the stairs. Capturing surface water is often critical to keep a basement or other area dry. By coupling it with our Waterguard drain lines, these two work perfectly together to make sure water is removed from the basement entrance seamlessly. We also went forward and installed our SuperSump system, along with our SuperLiner. This premium plastic sump liner is the attractive alternative to an open sump pit. Perforations in the liner capture ground water, and a larger opening connects to the interior drainage system. The pump also has an airtight lid, keeping out debris and unwanted pests. All together, this is a full proof system that is sure to keep this basement dry for years to come!

WaterGuard System in Ridgefield, CT

This Ridgefield home had a frequent water problem in the basement which concerned the homeowner. He wanted a dry basement at all times but also wanted a reputable company to do the work. After much research, the homeowner decided to make an appointment with Connecticut Basement Systems to help find the perfect solution.

The solution for this Ridgefield home was to install a WaterGuard system around the perimeter of the basement. The perimeter is first excavated in order to place the system internally. Once placed, gravel is backfilled and then sealed it with cement. This product is designed to collect water internally and channel it to the sump pump. Once it reaches the sump pump, the water is exited from the basement through a discharge line away from the home. The TripleSafe sump pump is the superior option for sump pumps since it provides three levels of protection against any amount of waters, it is capable of discharging up to 2,200 gallons of water per hour! Once the project was completed, the homeowner had peace of mind that he would have a dry basement all year long.

Waterproofing in New Canaan, CT

A homeowner had contacted us regarding a need for waterproofing services in his basement. Without a basement with proper waterproofing, many issues can occur including water damage to the floor and walls, flooding, and the growth of mold. Oftentimes a damp basement causes a musty odor as well as the potential growth of asbestos and other molds which then can become a health issue within one’s own home. Once we heard that assistance was needed, we sent out our expert, Sean Colson, to assess the basement.

While we have many solutions that are used to completely waterproof basements, one that was crucial in the process of waterproofing the homeowner’s basement was the installation of an UltraSump III. This is a sump pump that was installed to remove water that had accumulated in a sump basin under the homeowner's basement floor and to make sure water levels never got too high so now leaks could occur. Following the sump pump, our crew then implemented a whole new basement flooring. They put down over 1,400 tiles of ThermalDry Floor Matting which created a whole new and improved basement floor. The ThermalDry matts are interlocking waterproof tiles that create a warmer surface while also forming a water barrier above the basement floor. Without this flooring, any water vapors that pass beneath the concrete floor would be absorbed by any carpeting or padding which would cause unwanted odors.

The final step our experts took in fully waterproofing the homeowner’s basement was adding a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. By adding this, damp and musty odors will be eliminated by drying and filtering the air. In addition to filtering air, this machine will also filter mold spores, dust mite droppings, dust and other unwanted particles. With automatic drainage and humidity settings, the homeowner will not have to worry about tending to his new humidifier. In addition to waterproofing, the basement was also in need of a repaired crawlspace, which was easily fixed by the addition of drainage matting and wall caps. The matting is put over concrete to allow for proper draining of the crawlspace while wall caps are put over concrete walls to disallow moisture going from the concrete into the crawlspace. With the addition of all these solutions, this homeowner will not have to continue to worry about water issues in his basement or crawlspace.

They also installed Rim Joist Insulation in their crawlspace which further protects against humidity since it's isolated from the ground and outside.

After this job was completed Gus went back out for a revisit and they decided to do more work by adding the ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring to their basement. Waterproofing a Basement in Westport, CT

Stablein listened to the homeowner's concerns, scheduling an in-home consultation to further diagnose homeowner's needs. Some elements of the proposal included:

Installing a WaterGuard French drain system along the perimeter walls helps protect against water accumulating on the outskirts of the basement walls. Water may enter along the walls due to hydrostatic pressure, when water is pushed through narrow gaps in the concrete walls, seeping in along the perimeter. This clog-free system would help protect against these concerns. Additionally, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed, with three levels of protection against basement water. Any excess water collected by the WaterGuard system will be funneled into the sump pump, then expelled to a safe location outside the home via an exterior drainage line. Lastly, a SaniDry dehumidifier was installed to filter the air and remove moisture.

Once approved, Foreman Steve Cogswell and his team arrived on-site to begin work. Removing sections of the concrete slab along the perimeter, Cogswell installed the WaterGuard system.
