CTBS and TEAM Teams up for Toys4Kids!

Every year, TEAM Inc. helps make magic happen for children and families in The Valley. Two Seymour, CT locals, Tom and Diane Baklik, open their home every year to host a TEAM Toys 4 Kids fundraiser, collecting gifts and serving breakfast to the community.

Last year, due to Covid-19, resources were limited. Despite events being canceled and postponed, these towns still managed to come together virtually and collect gifts for over 1,500 children. 

This year, Tom and Diane were once again able to host their annual breakfast at their home and collect toys from volunteers and sponsors all over Seymour and surrounding towns. The first year back in-person yielded an impressive turnout. Guests each brought one, unwrapped toy for donating, receiving hundreds of toys and nearly $1,500 in cash. These donations go to families who have applied for assistance during the holidays. 

Connecticut Basement Systems (CTBS) took a field trip to help deliver the toys collected by the Baklik. These toys were relocated to the TEAM headquarters in Shelton, CT. From there, they are held until TEAM’s fundraiser and Toys4Kids event where local companies have bought and donated gifts for children around the valley. CTBS and Contractor Nation (CN) put out donation bins to help add to TEAM’s efforts. 

On Monday, December 6th, toys will be distributed by TEAM to these families to help them better prepare for the holiday season. We love having the opportunity to help our friends at TEAM and throughout the valley -- especially during this time of year!
