Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Foundation Repair-PowerBraces in Newtown, CT
A homeowner in Newtown, CT had a crack in their foundation that was causing it to tilt inward, which could eventually cause the foundation to fall. This customer made the smart decision to call us at Connecticut Basement Systems to have us fix this issue. One of our Sales Consultants, Tim Kane, went to the home to fully visualize and understand the issues. He saw how badly the wall was bowing and knew that this customer would need PowerBraces. He then provided the outline for one of our Foremen, Sergio Alves, and Jacob Scott to come out and fix.
They installed 4 PowerBraces. These will work to stabilize and straighten out the foundation by slowly tightening each brace using a specific tool. Eventually, the braces can become flush with the wall, ensuring the wall will stay in a straight, vertical position. Our team will come out to check and tighten the braces as needed. Now the homeowner can relax knowing their home will be stabilized.
Bowing, cracked foundation
This house had a horrible foundation crack where you can visibly see how the wall is bowing inward, which can be very problematic if this issue isn't addressed.
PowerBraces
Our crew installed 4 PowerBraces along the wall that was bowing. These will help to stabilize and straighten the foundation by slowly tightening each brace overtime so that they become flush with the foundation.

Here you can also see how bad this crack was making the foundation tilt inward.
PowerBraces
These sit against the wall and as they get tightened, they will become more flush and allow the foundation to go back into place.
The bracket
This bracket at the top of the PowerBrace will be what gets tightened slowly over time to straighten the brace. A specific tool will be used to crank the bolt.
