Harvest House

Harvest House - Image 1       In September, Connecticut Basement Systems participated in their 5th Harvest House Festival with Valley United Way’s Corporate Volunteer Council. The two-day biannual festival brings members of the Valley community together to help families in need. A 400 square foot house with shelves was built by Emmett O’Brien Tech students and filled with over 100,000 donated non-perishable food items. Basement Systems donated use of their truck to transport and store food in the days leading up to the build. At the close of the festival, all of the food was distributed to food banks serving Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Shelton and Oxford. As a result of the past four festivals, over one million meals have been provided to Valley families.
