Why We Provide Annual Maintenance And Why You Want It

Sump Pumps Are Machines. Important Ones.
Electromechanical devices. If you have one and it fails, you will have a flood when it rains hard – and that is just what you wanted to avoid when you hired us.
Years ago when I started in the basement waterproofing business, I joined an association for the industry and got to know other basement waterproofing contractors from around the country.
I learned that when they do work for a homeowner, they never want to hear from them again. “Why?” I asked. “Because if you hear from them, they must have a problem!”
A phone call from a previous customer was bad news. I guess they were hoping that the customer would forget about them and lose their phone number after they worked for them.
I knew this was not a good attitude for me to adopt as I was thinking long-term. Not only did I not want customers to forget about me, I didn’t want them to have problems – ever!
A phone call from a customer who spent good money with us and is standing in water is not a good call – understandably so.
This is why I invented products such as our TripleSafe Sump pump system, IceGuard, our own battery-backup system called UltraSump, and so much more. They are far superior to off-the-shelf stuff you can get at a supply house and reduce the chances of failure and flooding by a LOT. But alas – they still need service. You see, we want to find problems BEFORE they find you.
What kind of problems?
- Mud in the sump hole that blocks the flow of water to the bottom of the pump where it sucks in the water.
- Switch problems on the pump that tell it when to go on and off.
- Low batteries on the battery backup system.
- Battery charger issues.
- Stuck or clogged check valves on the discharge pipe.
- Discharge pipe problems outside.
- Clogged sub-floor drains.
- Window well problems causing them to flood.
- New grading problems outside
- Batteries in the high water alarm
The space in a basement is 1/3 the usable space under your roof for a two-story house, and ½ the space in your house for a one-story house. It’s important.
Please continue to have us out for annual maintenance each year to prevent these problems and make sure you are good to go for another year.
