Mark K. was complaining about a damp smell in the basement and coming from the crawl space and they were also concerned with cold floors above the crawl space. He wanted a solution, and he wanted one fast, so he gave us a call at Connecticut Basement Systems, and we were happy to come and see how we could solve his problem!
Our System Design Specialist, Ferdinand Gojani, came out to survey the space, and assess what needed to be done. The first thing he suggested was a CleanSpace Radiant Vapor Barrier. This bright, white vapor barrier completely transforms a crawl space, while also working to reduce moisture and humidity within the crawl space. It also helps seal out cold drafts in the winter, and is suitable over walls and floors. We also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier, which is designed to provide many years of energy-efficient, trouble-free performance, even in tough crawl space conditions. SilverGlo rigid foam insulation was also installed. This rigid foam insulation shed water instead of soaking it up like cellulose and fiberglass insulation. The best part? It doesn't support mold EVER.
This crawl space was transformed from dark to dazzling, and this family can now use the space for storage! Call us TODAY for your free, crawl space estimate!

We not only adhere to the highest industry standards, we strive to be the industry leader in the home improvement related services we provide. We also use state-of-the-art products and technology which are designed to fix your home. We are the authorized Basement Systems dealer in Old Lyme, CT.
The basement of this Old Lyme, CT home had a hatchway, with stairs leading into the basement from the outside. Water was able to enter the basement through the crack under the door. They needed this to stop, so they gave us at Connecticut Basement Systems a call, and we were happy to come out and help!
To prevent this, our team installed a trench drain at the end of the stairs. This open grated drain collects water into the perimeter drainage system, preventing it from entering the basement. Both parts are made from heavy-duty reinforced plastic, so you’ll never need to worry about breakage, moisture damage, corrosion, or maintenance. The homeowners now have a dry basement to enjoy, and we were happy that we could offer a solution to their problem.
