This Norwalk home had continuous water problems in their basement. The only line of defense the home had was an old sump pump in a hole. The homeowners decided to call the experts at Connecticut Basement Systems and our Certified Basement Water proofer Matt diagnosed and fixed the issue. We came in and installed our Waterguard drain system. The Waterguard is put in the ground but above the footing or “mud zone” to prevent any clogs.
The water flowing through the drain system makes a trip through our premier sump pump system the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe sump pump has a total of three pumps for that added security. The first pump which sits the lowest starts pumping first. The second pump will start running if the first pump is unable to handle the amount of water coming in. The third and final pump will start running if the power goes out or is tripped, because it is backed up by a battery.
As a finishing touch we installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. The vapor barrier is a 100% waterproof plastic material that's perfect for unfinished basement walls. With a 25-year warranty [PDF] for wear and tear, it's durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection called UltraFresh built right in! The homeowners can sit back and know that their basement won’t have anymore moisture or water issues.

In this basement we installed our Waterguard drainage system. We also upgraded the existing TrenchDrain in addition to installing a SuperSump pump. On the outside of the house we put in an Iceguard to prevent water back up during winter months from frozen pipes.

To stop water from flowing through the doorway of this home, our team installed the TrenchDrain grated draining system along the edge of the entranceway. TrenchDrain resembles half of a basement drainage pipe, with a grated opening fitted snugly on top. The grate is flush or slightly below the floor, eliminating any tripping hazard. After the cement finishes drying, the owners of this home can be confident that no water will leak through their doorway any more.
