Susie began researching companies and found Connecticut Basement Systems soon after. She then met with waterproofing specialist Michael Lane, who had a solution to her water spot problem.
With Michael’s guidance, Luis and his crew came in and installed a Trench Drain and WaterGuard combo to ensure the current water would drain effectively out of her basement. A SuperSump sump pump was also installed to ensure future flooding would be a problem of the past. Finally a SaniDry Dehumidfier was installed to eliminate all future threat of excess moisture in the basement.

The old insulation and waterproofing methods in this Mystic, CT family's home was beginning to take a toll on their home. The house's original rim joist insulation was old, and costing them quite a bit on their energy bills. The rim joist is an area often overlooked when it comes to home insulation, and it is also a huge source of energy loss. On top of that, their old sump pump and waterproofing system just wasn't running like it used to. They gave us a call at Connecticut Basement to help fix the problem, and we were more than happy to come and take a look!
Once we diagnosed this houses problem with our system design specialist, we hopped right to work! We first removed all of the home's old insulation, and went ahead and installed our own Rim Joist Insulation. To do this, we used a closed cell spray foam. Closed cell foam cures dense and hard and is heavier than open cell foam. It forms an effective barrier against both moisture and air, making it hard for cold air from the outside to sneak in.
Secondly, we went ahead and waterproofed the basement with our TripleSafe Sump Pump System! For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. In case of a power outage, our UltraSump® battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level, will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery!

This family in Ledyard, CT was looking for a full proof solution when it came to waterproofing their basement, and when they called Connecticut Basements for help, we were happy to do the job!
After our System Design Specialist came in, and figured out what was best for the family's space, we called on our expert foreman to take on the job at hand. We first went ahead and installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump. This three pump system works together, and separately, to ensure that any water getting into the space will have no effect on their home. If there is too much water for the first pump to handle then the second pump works at the same time from another discharge line. We also installed a WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement.

The basement of this Old Lyme, CT home had a hatchway, with stairs leading into the basement from the outside. Water was able to enter the basement through the crack under the door. They needed this to stop, so they gave us at Connecticut Basement Systems a call, and we were happy to come out and help!
To prevent this, our team installed a trench drain at the end of the stairs. This open grated drain collects water into the perimeter drainage system, preventing it from entering the basement. Both parts are made from heavy-duty reinforced plastic, so you’ll never need to worry about breakage, moisture damage, corrosion, or maintenance. The homeowners now have a dry basement to enjoy, and we were happy that we could offer a solution to their problem.
