This Greenwich, CT home had a water issue in the basement every time it rained. The homeowner wanted a solution that would provide his home to have a clean, dry basement. After hearing reputable reviews from others, he decided to contact the experts at Connecticut Basement Systems.
On the day of the appointment, Sales Representative Steve Machnicz arrived at the home to inspect the basement. He noticed that there was a lot of ground water seepage coming through the area and instantly knew of solution. Upon further inspection, he realized that the basement was allowing a lot of unwanted air and moisture through the rim joists which was causing a humid and sticky basement. In this environment, mold can thrive. Steve went over all the problematic areas and went over in great detail the solution. He proposed a WaterGuard System paired with a TripleSafe sump pump to collect water and discharge it before it enters the basement. Steve also recommended Rim Joist insulation to prevent any unwanted air into the basement and a SaniDry Sedona to keep humidity below 55%. This is exactly what the homeowner had wanted and decided to move forward with the project.
On the day of production, Foreman Krzys Wilk and his team installed each product professionally and efficiently. On the day of the appointment, Sales Representative Rick Raucci arrived at the home and inspected the basement. He concluded that the water issue in the basement needed to be addressed immediately. Rick suggested installing a below the floor WaterGuard system which will collect water internally. Once the water is collected, it is channeled to the TripleSafe sump pump where the water is discharged away from the basement. To address the damp and humid environment caused by the unwanted water, Rick suggested a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Water seepage into Mike A's Greenwich, Connecticut basement was causing a mold problem and Mike got on the Internet and searched for "seepage causing mold." He was in luck and filled out a contact form on BasementSystems.com.
On October 26th system design specialist Joe Pascarella came out to Mike's Greenwich home and performed a thorough inspection and measurement of the basement. He then went over the cause of the problem -- water entering the basement through the floor-wall joint -- and a solution -- the installation of our WaterGuard drainage channel system that would drain to a SuperSump sump pump system. They also decided on the installation of the SaniDry dehumidifier and air filter system, to really create a dry, usable basement space.
In addition to the waterproofing and dehumidification system, Connecticut Basement Systems also sprayed Mold X to neutralize the existing mold.
When Brian G. called us out to his Greenwich home he had concerns with water leaks around his Electrical conduit, a pipe penetration through the foundation wall, and other slight cracks beneath. Brian had used Connecticut Basement Systems before when we waterproofed a new building of his.
In this case we injected polyurethane around the pipe penetration through the thickness of the wall and then put our patented FlexiSpan wall crack repair system over the wall cracks and drained this beneath the basement floor. Problem solved.
Joe Pascarella helped Ken B. to upgrade his SuperSump system that had been installed by us a few years ago to add the UltraSump Battery Backup Pumping System.
In all cases, one of our SuperSumps can be upgraded with a battery backup pump for those events where the power goes out, the pump gets unplugged, or the SuperSump doesn't turn on for any reason. And as a waterproofing company since 1987, we know that most basement get wet after a waterproofing systems has been installed because of a pump failure.
Bruce Blanchette was called out to Clayton R's home in Greenwich, CT due to a wet crawlspace. Bruce found a musty crawlspace with some standing water. He recommended sealing the crawlspace with the CleanSpace vapor barrier to lower the relative humidity and help prevent the damp musty oder, and added a SmartSump crawl space sump pump system to handle the water. Sid Avis and his crew were able to install the entire system in one day which included the WaterWatch Alarm and CleanPump Stand in the SmartSump Liner.
