Micah is a Total Basement Finishing Project Manager who started in 2014 and has been a trusted employee ever since. He most recently was a Happiness Project Winner of July 2017! A typical day for him includes taking a list of moving parts (permit, plans, trades, customers, scheduling and managing crews) and making them gel together and flow smoothly. Micah was also a carpenter before this position and this knowledge helps him greatly when figuring out logistics for any basement finishing project. In addition to all the technical work he does day to day, he is always creating, keeping and maintaining customer expectations. He also enjoys the challenge his job has to offer. When Micah is not at work, he lives in New Haven with his wife and enjoys basketball, traveling and doing local volunteer.

This basement in Derby, CT was crowded, uninviting, and not a space the family living in it felt comfortable using. They wanted to turn it into a space they could use year round, so they called Connecticut Basement Systems to get the job done.
Micah Smith came to out to the home, and quickly surveyed what could be done to this space. He brought out Sheldon Lennon and his team, and they quickly got to work! They first air sealed the entire home with rim joist insulation. This insulation is important to keeping the basement warm, and it is an affordable option that is high coverage. They then installed ThermalDry floor tiles in sandstone gray. These tiles are a great option because they can snap together over concrete, and create a great thermal barrier, so your feet are never cold! We also installed Everlast wall panels around the entire basement. These panels are made of inorganic materials and great for the basement environment!
This basement completely transformed into a space this family can now use for whatever they please! Call us TODAY for your free basement finishing estimate!
